I love football edits, they are now a fundamental part of the football ecosystem. Edits have evolved from soundless grainy highlight videos to pure cinema in some cases. I watch a lot of edits during the week whilst scouting for players and want to pinpoint some of my favourite.

This week its ScoutNation highlights of Franco Mastantuono, a mega talent from River Plate. Its hard to believe the boy is 17 years old – at this rate, he is destined for greatness.

- He is physically ability is beyond his years. He is built like a 24+ year old player – amazing.
- I really like his ability to use his strength to shield and move past players.
- His balance and power on the ball when manoeuvring with the ball
Psychological abilities
- He is a genius, his ability to be aware of his surroundings is first class
- A team player – he is always looking for his teammates and finds them with ease
- A highly skilled player, you can see his confidence in his own ability
Technical abilities
- Technically, he has superb ball control
- His ability to work in tight spaces and find an open player is truly exceptional for his age.
- His awareness and timing when passing is brilliant.
- He also has an eye for goal – this boy is a close to being a complete player at only 17.
What could ScoutNation improve?
- Nothing, the video is a perfect example of how to edit a player. It shows why ScoutNation has such a large following.
